Mental health and substance abuse services are covered under health insurance policies. When you call to make your initial appointment, you will be asked for information about your insurance, if you plan to use it to pay for your services. Our receptionist will help you understand how your insurance coverage works and will let you know if there is anything that you must do to obtain coverage such as getting pre-authorization. Most insurance plans do not require a referral from your primary care physician.
Usually, your insurance company will require that you help to cover the cost of services by making co-payments. At your initial appointment you will be advised of the amount of your copayment. We will be glad to determine that amount before you schedule your appointment if you wish. We expect you to make your copayments at the time of service.
If you prefer not to use your insurance benefits to pay for your services, private financial arrangements will be made prior to the initial appointment.
